Visualizing Safety, Rule by Rule

The National Electrical Safety Code reads like a stack of legal fine print, hundreds of dense, numbered rules most people will never sit down and read. We turned it into a city instead, mapping specific codes onto the power poles, manholes, and work trucks people already pass every day without a second thought.

Pairing each rule with a familiar piece of the urban landscape gave an abstract regulation something to attach to, a transformer, a fence line, a crew working overhead. That visual anchor did the work a paragraph of legal language couldn't, making the code feel less like something to memorize and more like something you'd already noticed.

An infographic outlining rules for electrical safety and standards, titled 'The National Electrical Safety Code (NESC),' with sections on grounding methods, installation and maintenance, underground lines, and operation of electrical lines, featuring illustrations of electrical equipment, trees, construction, and safety signs.
